World living beyond its means?

Here is a blog that echos my instint - that continuous economic growth is not sustainable, that perhaps we are depleting our resources at rates beyound what nature can regenerate:

Although the articles only mentioned the developing countries, I think it also apply to the rest of the world.

Post WWII economic theory is based on consumption to keep the economy vibrant. Sustainability was never considered. Now, of course, it is the cornerstone of our economy. Consume, consume, consume. Brain damage is a prerequisite for economists.
