World living beyond its means?

Here is a blog that echos my instint - that continuous economic growth is not sustainable, that perhaps we are depleting our resources at rates beyound what nature can regenerate:

Although the articles only mentioned the developing countries, I think it also apply to the rest of the world.

THE world’s reserves of raw materials and natural resources for the next two generations have been exhausted because of over-exploitation by developed and developing countries, according to research studies by environmental activist Professor David Suzuki. Activist highlights extent of human excesses
